The Education Computer Centre supports a growing number of "smart" classrooms for the Faculty of Education.
Smart Classroom and Computer Lab time is booked by Faculty of Education lecturers ONLY through the Student Program Centre, ED354.
There are information sheets available in the Education Mailroom ED384.2 describing how to operate the consoles. These are the current smart classrooms and the equipment found in each:
ED210: specialized SMART Sympodium lecturer console, VHS/DVD Combo Player, control panel, data projector, floor-to-ceiling wall used for screen, laptop video and audio connection, USB connection for USB flash drives, network port.
ED215: lecturer console with computer, VHS/DVD Combo Player, control panel, data projector, speakers, AV screen, laptop video and audio connection, USB connection for USB flash drives, network port
ED228: Teaching Preparation Centre - lecturer console with computer, VHS/DVD Combo Player, control panel, data projector, speakers, AV screen, laptop video and audio connection, USB connection for USB flash drives, network port; SMARTBoard with a computer cart; 12 computer workstations for student use - print jobs go to ED254.
ED244: Canada Research Chair Boardroom - IP Video Teleconference, Polycom teleconference, PC. Please see the Office of Research and Graduate Studies in ED236 for information on booking the facilities.

ED320: Science Lab - SMARTBoard, cart with computer, data projector, speakers, laptop video and audio connection, USB connection for USB flash drives, network port; as well, there are 3 computers and 1 scanner for Science Education student use.
ED321: Science Lab - SMARTBoard, cart with computer, data projector, speakers, laptop video and audio connection, USB connection for USB flash drives, network port; as well, there are 2 iMacs for Science Education student use.
ED341: lecturer console with computer, VHS/DVD Combo Player, SMART Board with data projector and speakers, AV screen, USB
connection for USB flash drives, network port, (we are working on installing a connection for laptops)

In addition to the static smart classrooms, the Education Computer Centre also signs out portable computer carts each equipped with a computer and a data projector for doing presentations in classrooms not yet equipped with smart classroom technology. These portable computer carts are heavily used by faculty so we advise that requests be submitted well in advance of the time required. As well, there are 3 portable classroom laptop carts available for self-signout by lecturers only:
- Dell Cart: 15 Latitude 120L laptops
- iBook / MacBook Cart: 10 MacBook laptops, 11 iBook G3, 5 iBook G4
- MacBook Pro Cart: 15 MacBook Pro laptops
